在传统的西方文化中，人鱼（mermaid）的声音是极端美妙动听的，以至能俘虏人的心志。Disney动画《The Little Mermaid》中的Ariel，就是为了爱情，把她最美的声音出卖给了章鱼神婆……

更原始的传说是，在海上的海妖，常常化成美丽的人鱼。她们在礁石上，弹着竖琴，唱着带有魔性的歌。年轻的男子一旦经过，就会不由自主地被歌声和人鱼的美貌吸引，灵魂被人鱼掠走。这就是Mermaid Song。

苏格兰Whisky-Chivas Regal的广告，是在冰天雪地远离凡嚣的阿拉斯加，几个男人边冰上垂钓（ice-fishing）边说笑，仿佛时间已经为他们停止，此刻只需尽情享受闲情，友情，和CHIVAS。广告响起的音乐，就是一首《Mermaid Song》。其歌词没有任何侵犯灵魂的词藻，只是娓娓地唱着星月、海、和梦。男人，尤其是拼搏半生的男人，所渴求的温暖、稳定和信任感全在于此，可谓是男人心中的梦想家园，其“诱惑力”不言而喻。
